1. Acceptance and eligibility

By downloading, installing, or using Oppdag Norge you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, do not use the app. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. Parents or guardians are responsible for any minors' use of the app.

These Terms constitute a binding agreement between you and Frich Utvikling, which operates Oppdag Norge.

2. Service description

Oppdag Norge is a mobile application for discovering and exploring Norway. The service lets users check in and record places they have visited — such as mountain peaks, churches, lighthouses, and waterfalls — and build a personal record of visited municipalities and place categories. Users can track their own progress and compete on public leaderboards.

The app offers core functionality for free and a Premium tier for a fee. We reserve the right to change, expand, or discontinue features with reasonable notice.

3. Account responsibilities

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity that occurs on your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised use of your account. You may not transfer your account to another person.

Usernames must not impersonate other individuals, contain offensive content, or infringe third-party rights.

4. Cheating and fake visits

You agree to use Oppdag Norge in accordance with applicable law and these Terms. The following are expressly prohibited:

• Fake check-ins: Checking in at or claiming a place you have not physically visited, by any means — including location spoofing, automation, or falsified data — is strictly forbidden. Only genuine, in-person visits are permitted.
• Leaderboard manipulation: Unfair manipulation of the leaderboards using automated tools, scripts, bots, coordinated cheating, or any other dishonest means is prohibited. Only legitimate check-ins count.
• Uploading illegal, offensive, defamatory, or sexually explicit content.
• Abusing reporting features to harass other users.
• Attempting to circumvent technical security measures.
• Commercial exploitation of the service without written consent from Frich Utvikling.

We reserve the right to suspend or delete accounts that violate these rules, and to reset scores obtained through illegitimate means.

5. User content and photo licence

You retain ownership of content you upload to the app, such as photos taken at check-in. By uploading content, you grant Frich Utvikling a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, display, and distribute the content in connection with the operation of the service.

You are responsible for ensuring that content you upload does not infringe third-party copyright, privacy, or other rights. We reserve the right to remove content that violates these Terms.

6. Premium subscription

Oppdag Norge offers an optional Premium subscription that unlocks additional features.

• Billing: The subscription is purchased and billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play under their respective payment terms. We do not have access to card details or payment information.
• Automatic renewal: The subscription renews automatically for the same period at the current price, unless cancelled in your store account settings at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Free trials: Any free trial periods are offered through the Apple App Store or Google Play and are subject to their terms. Any unused portion of a trial period is forfeited upon purchase of a subscription.
• Price changes: We may change the subscription price. You will be notified in advance, and any change will take effect from the next renewal period.
• Refunds: Refund requests are handled according to the applicable refund policy of the Apple App Store or Google Play. Frich Utvikling is not a party to the payment transaction and cannot process refunds directly.
• Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple or Google account settings. After cancellation you retain access to Premium features until the end of the current paid period.

7. Outdoor safety and routing

Oppdag Norge may display routes and directions to places in the outdoors. These routes are suggestions and guidance only, not safety-critical navigation. The following applies:

• Route suggestions are based on available map data and cannot account for actual conditions such as weather, snow cover, flooding, closed paths, or individual fitness levels.
• You are always solely responsible for your own safety when travelling outdoors. Always assess conditions on the ground, your own skill level, and weather forecasts before setting out.
• Using the app does not relieve you of the responsibility to make sound decisions in the field. Always carry appropriate safety equipment and inform others of your plans.
• Frich Utvikling accepts no liability for injuries or accidents resulting from following route suggestions in the app.

By using the routing features you confirm that you are aware of and accept these limitations.

8. Intellectual property

The Oppdag Norge app, logo, design, place data, and all other content developed by Frich Utvikling are protected by copyright and other intellectual property rights. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or sell any such content without written permission.

Map data displayed in the app is subject to the licence terms of Kartverket and OpenStreetMap contributors respectively.

9. Termination

You may delete your account and cease using the service at any time via Settings → Delete account in the app. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the service if you breach these Terms, with or without notice.

10. Changes and contact

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated in the app or on this page. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
